Golf Bookings (COVID-19) Update

It has now been a few months, within the UK, since restrictions were placed on schools, workplaces, and of course… golf courses! Online bookings are becoming essential as national golf administrations across the globe are gradually opening up their fairways to a limited number of people. However, these courses are placing strict safety guidelines which must be followed, and will inevitably change the way we play.

The UK Government has announced that golf will be able to resume in England on Wednesday, 13 May 2020 after a seven-week hiatus.

In accordance with the Prime Minister’s statement of 11 May, all outdoor sport, must be enjoyed alone or within a household group. Golf is now permitted in England, and can be played as a 4-ball with members of the same household, or as a 2-ball with one other person from a different household. Social distancing must be enforced at all times.

Clubhouses for drinks and food will remain closed, with takeaway services potentially available based on the individual policy set by each golf club.

There are no official announcements currently in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland to confirm when the lockdown will be lifted on golf courses. As it stands, all golf courses are currently closed.

Travel into the UK is easing on a daily basis, however a mandatory 14 day quarantine for anyone entering the country is in place.
